2006 Merlot
One word describes our 2006 Merlot … WONDERFUL! This Merlot is more like a Cabernet Sauvignon than a Merlot. In fact, those jokers from Sideways were definitely not talking about this Merlot. Developed and intense fruit from this harvest has produced one of our best Merlots yet! From the highlands of Santa Barbara County, this full flavored, full-bodied Merlot exhibits hints of berry, plum, and currant. Touches of pipe tobacco and spicy oak lend weight to the finish, trailed by firm, assertive tannins. Enjoy this wine with a wide range of food, or of course, all by itself! As a Cabernet Sauvignon cousin, you’ll find that this Merlot is just as rich, complex, and ageable.
