2005 Cabernet Franc

Our 2005 Cabernet Franc comes from the highlands of Santa Barbara County, grown at an elevation of 3,000 feet. The warm days, cool nights create a perfect environment for this grape varietal. Although mostly grown for blending with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot our 2005 vintage exhibited qualities that made it conducive to stand on its own. This Cabernet Franc exhibits a peppery perfume with additional aromas of tobacco, raspberry, cassis and even violets with a bright pale red color.

Barrel aged 22 months in American Oak. pH 3.63, alc 13.9%, 80 cases produced.

Suggested food pairings: Beef, esp. lean and roasted; Duck; Eggplant; Game; Lamb; Pork, esp. with fruit sauce and/or roasted. This wine also marries well with vegetables.
