On Tuesday, June 8th Rancho Ventavo Cellars was awarded the: 2010 California Tourism Marketing Excellence Awards in the following category: Best PR Co-Op Campaign.

Our Oxnard Visitors and Convention Bureau President and CEO, Ms. Janet Sederquist, was at the luncheon held in San Fransisco and received the award for us.

Our thanks to all our partnering restaurants, hotels, wineries, visitor bureaus and transportation companies for making 2009-2010 GREAT!

A 100% Pinot Noir that displays a medium red color and expresses the classic boquet of the varietal - earthiness and mushrooms. This is the first wine we made commercially!

Our November Specials are:

2005 Pinot Noir - Santa Maria Valley. Purchase 2 bottles and receive the 3rd on us! Regular Retail $36.00 - This deal works out to $24.00/bottle. This 100% Pinot Noir displays a medium red color and expresses the classic earthiness bouquet Pinot's are known for. Barrel aged 16 months, pH 3.48, alc 13.9%, 109 cases produced.

2006 Cabernet Sauvignon/Syrah - Paso Robles. Regular Retail $26.00.Purchase a case for only $216.00 ($18.00/bottle). This is our first 50/50 blend. This wine is herb driven with aromas such as juniper, thyme and bay. There is a toasty cigar box-like aroma followed up by some current fruit. Barrel aged 22 months in new American Oak, pH 3.71, alc 14.3%, 385 cases produced.

Join Rancho Ventavo Cellars and Sommelier Tim Robertson in our Wednesday evening wine education classes! Check our "happenings" and "events" tab and view our calendar! You must register and pre-pay for the classes.

Classes will begin at 7:00 PM and run between 90 minutes to 2 1/2 hours.

Seminar prices range between $15 - $25 p/p and always include wine and light appetizers.

About the Sommelier - Timothy Robertson is a member of the Society of Wine Educators and a member of the United States Sommelier Association, and he has successfully completed the Sommelier Course given by the Cout of Master Sommeliers. Timothy has aover 20 years experience in tasting and serving wine, along with a vast knowledge in the pairing of wines with various food types.

Our tasting room located at Heritage Square will officially open Thursday, May 28, 2009 with a ribbon cutting event sponsored by the Oxnard Chamber of Commerce.

Our hours of operation: Friday - Sunday / 11:00AM - 6:00 PM and Monday holidays. We are also open by appointment.

In, addition we have a 900 square foot area upstairs that can be used for private events, meetings, receptions ....

At this luncheon several members of the Ventura County Winery Association (VCWA) will be the guest speakers. Each winery will tell guests a bit about their individual wineries.
